SYNOPSIS
Edward J. Steichen is a photographer.
A U.S. immigrant when he was 18 months old, he takes his first photo in 1895, at the age of 16. On the banks of Lake Michigan, he dreams of the artist’s life. Six years later, he meets Rodin.He presents Picasso in his own New York gallery and reinvents modern fashion and war photography. He mounts the « Family of Man » exhibition seen by over 9 million visitors.For five years at the end of his life, he films a tree behind his house.
He was, above all else, the most famous portrait photographer in the world.
